GroupLink is a two and a half hour event designed to help you connect with people to form a community group.
Community groups are small groups of six to eight people (or three to five couples) that meet regularly in a group member's home. These groups pursue a growing relationship with God and other people through Bible reading, prayer, serving each other and our community, and ultimately, becoming friends who share their spiritual journey. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.
Types of Community Groups
As groups are formed through GroupLink events, or through friends coming together, we see:Â
Married Couples
Married couples in the same stage of life (newly-married couples, couples without children, couples with children, empty nesters or a mix of these).
Men's Groups / Women's Groups
Men and women can join same-gender groups. Â These individuals may be either single or married depending on the desire of each group.
Mixed Groups
Many of our groups have a mix of both married and unmarried men and women.Â
Upcoming GroupLink Dates
GroupLink events are held three times a year at McLane Church.
The next GroupLink will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 5:30 - 8:00 PM.  We meet in the Adult Education Room at the Edinboro site on Rt. 99.Â
What to Expect at GroupLink
When you arrive at GroupLink, you will be directed to the check-in area, where you will sign in and receive your nametag. The evening is divided into several segments. Here's what to expect:
Opening
During the first part of the evening, you'll receive a warm welcome from the event host, a light snack and a quick overview of what to expect. It's a time to just hang out and make a few acquaintances and maybe renew some old ones.
Mealtime - Pt. 1
The first part of our mealtime is an opportunity to meet others who live in your area of the region. You'll have to put in a little effort to meet a few new folks, but it will be well worth it! You'll spend time enjoying the first course of your dinner in conversation and getting to know people. Potential groups begin to take shape and friendships begin to form.
Mealtime - Pt. 2Â
As you move into the second half of your dinner, you'll be re-seated with a new group of people who are within the same general age group as yourself. Â You'll continue to make some new friends and also learn more about how we do GroupLife at McLane Church.

Group Formation
During the Group Formation, you will decide which group you'd like to join. Â You'll probably be with some of the people you've gotten to know over dinner. Â It's a time to get better acquainted with these new people you've met and begin to form a group.
Vision Cast
During the Vision Cast segment, you will learn a little about what to expect from a community group experience. You'll watch a video that is the first session of the starter group curriculum that you'll be using during the following six sessions.
Group Launch
To wrap up the evening, each group will sit back, relax, and get to know each other a little bit better. We'll serve you some dessert and some coffee while you have some fun with some "icebreaker questions" and plan your first meeting.
