READ: Titus 2:11-14 ; 2 Corinthians 5:17
OBSERVATIONS AND QUESTIONS:
- What is the desired result of God’s grace and forgiveness as seen in these passages? What was Jesus’ purpose in dying for us?
KEY CONCEPT:
- The result of a forgiven and thankful person is one who is a new creation and who does not indulge in ungodly behavior.
QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
- Is your behavior influenced in any way by the Holy Spirit’s presence within you (assuming you are a Christian)? As a Christian, what is your reaction to those temptations when they come? Do you appropriate the power of Jesus Christ’s name against the evil one when you are under spiritual attack (see Luke 10:17 )?
PRAY:
- The Lord has given us a model for our prayers in what we call “The Lord’s prayer”. Pray it today, not ritually or without thought, but slowly, pausing with each phrase to further embellish its meaning…personalizing it. Take note that Jesus taught us to pray that we would not fall into temptation. Realize that this is a part of your battle armor against Satan (see also Ephesians 6 : 10-18).
