Children’s Ministry (Ages Infants – Fifth Grade)

PowerZone Kids at McLane Church is designed to provide a safe and caring environment where your child will learn about Christ in an age-appropriate, creative and fun way! We desire PowerZone Kids to be a life-changing experience for your child and we look forward to partnering with you in your child's spiritual development.

We are excited to share more about our ministry with you! If you have any questions, please contact us at powerzone@mclanechurch.org.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to bring the gospel to life so our children desire a heart for Jesus.

Values

  • Commitment to excellence.
  • Willingness to be inconvenienced for the sake of the Gospel.
  • Partnership with parents in their child's development.
  • Relationships.
  • Safety (physical, spiritual, and emotional).
  • Teaching of God's Word through programming that is creative, fun, relevant, and age appropriate.

Nursery (Ages Infant - 23 months)

We provide a safe and playful environment for our youngest PowerZone children. Our nursery is staffed by caring individuals who have a love for babies and toddlers. For your convenience, one-way glass windows are placed between the worship center and nursery, so that you may check on your baby at any time.

Please bring the following to ensure a comfortable visit for your child:

  • Labeled sippy cup or bottle if your child requires one.
  • Diaper bag with extra diaper and set of clothes.
  • Comfort item such as a blanket, pacifier, etc.

Please label all items with your child’s first and last names.

Early Childhood (Ages 2-5 year olds)

Our early childhood children begin our full PowerZone programming once they are two years old. We introduce these children to God’s love for them in very concrete ways and bring the Bible to life for them. The time consists of the following activities:

Activity Stations

Children are greeted when they arrive and are invited to select one of the activities to play. This is the time when our staff connects with them through play and talks to them about their week’s activities.

Kid Connection

Our children break into small groups and are asked a question that leads into a discussion about the key concept for the day.

Worship and Teaching

Next, the children interact with creative Bible teaching that is interspersed with fun and meaningful worship.

Small Group Time

After worship and teaching, the children break into small groups again where they participate in activities such as a craft, game, and discussion that reinforces the key concept they learned during worship and teaching.

This is also the time where they interact more closely with the other children and their small group leader and build closer relationships.

At the end they pray together and are ready for pick up.

What to Bring

  • If your child still wears a diaper or is potty training, please bring an extra diaper and set of clothes.

Elementary (Kindergarten - Fifth Grade)

PowerZone at the elementary level is tailored specifically to meet their abilities and needs. It is programming that is high energy yet meaningful and relevant to their lives as they grow in their relationship with Christ. Our goal is bringing the Bible to life for them so that it is real and serves a purpose in their lives.
