Starting something new is usually always an exciting part of life.
I am pretty jazzed right now with the 40 Days in the Word campaign, as it is breathing new life into my personal devotions as well as giving my small group something new to sink our teeth into. And the fact that the whole church is doing this together brings a sense of synergy, or sharing the journey together. Am I alone in this, or is this kind of enthusiasm affecting you as well?
One of the convicting things that I heard Rick Warren tell us was the importance of living out James 1:22 - that we are to be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Sometimes life gets so busy that we just take in head knowledge in regard to the Bible. We know what it says....but we don't make time to find ways to put that knowledge into action. James also says that faith without works is dead (meaningless).
So as I get deeper into 40 DITW (and beyond!), I want to commit to find ways to live out what I am learning the Bible says about how we are to do life. Care to join me?
