The boldness to not look back and Elisha's ridiculous faith!

elisha640This weekend, we got to hear a very special message from Craig Groeschel introducing us to the character of Elisha.  He was an old testament prophet who was called to do GREAT things through a unique means. You may recall, Elisha was in the middle of his day job plowing his father's fields when his soon-to-be mentor, Elijah came up to him and placed his cloak upon him. In this action, EliJAH was inviting EliSHA to leave his old way of life behind and  become a prophet like himself.

In response to Elijah's invitation, Elisha killed the bulls he was working with and then burned his plows.  This symbolized that there was no turning back!  He decided to follow God's calling on his life...and he eliminated the opportunity to return to his old way of life.

What is keeping you from following God with your whole heart today?  Is there a plow you need to burn today...or a plan b that needs to be eliminated?

I pray for a church who hears from God and doesn't look back.  Today, may you be encouraged  to seek God, to trust His leadership in your life and not look back...because with God, THE GREATEST IS ALWAYS BEFORE US!

Ephesians 3:20 NLT -  Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
