Tradition, deconstruction and one of my FAVORITE Sundays of the year!

Image Tradition: a long-established custom or belief that has been passed on in this way.

Each year, about this time, we've made it our tradition at McLane Church Erie to take one Sunday and deconstruct the music we do into bare simplicity.

We gather around an ancient story of a baby being born in humble surroundings to ordinary people...and celebrate it with simple poems set to century old tunes.  It is one of my favorite Sundays of the entire year!  We recall the songs of Christmas that have been sung for centuries to remember the greatest story ever told!

This season called Advent is all about preparation...preparing to remember Christ's birth once again.  One way that we can prepare is to remember the story as people have remembered it for centuries...in these age old songs and poems!  Would you join us this Sunday as we remember in this way?

We'll also launch a new sermon series called "Four Told" highlighting stories of life change within our church.  You will NOT want to miss this weekend!  Invite a friend as well!
